Most Recent Posts Singing Moose Heads and other fun stuff at QuicksellitPosted Sep-25-07 21:41:57 PDT I was writing our fall newsletter the other day, going through lists of items that have sold since we opened our store almost two years ago, and I was reminded of the SINGING MOOSE HEAD we sold last Christmas and how much fun we've had bringing other people's wacky stuff to the ebay marketplace. The same customer who brought the moose head has brought us other unique items--Civil War swords, moon rocks, antique cloth, bomber jackets, Mao teapots. Everything he brings, this fellow, has a story to go along with it. There was the ball that was made from a coral reef that the early Puerto Ricans used to play cricket, the carved human skulls used to decorate tribal burial grounds, American Indian hand-painted chaps...and our customer starts every item at a penny. He calls himself PENNY ANDY and he never blinks an eye if one of his priceless gems goes for a fraction of its worth..."I've made plenty of money in my life, I've already made my money back on all this stuff, so let's have some fun," he tells us, and it is fun we have. More stories of Penny Andy and the Longaberger ladies and the midnight caller to come...everyday is Christmas for us and we love almost every minute of this business! |
