Most Recent Posts taking stock - getting more books readyPosted Aug-11-08 16:47:42 PDT Well, now I have sold 8 of my first 14 books. There is nothing for sale at the moment while I pile books ready to go on to new owners. There are a whole bunch of feminism, cultural studies and sexual politics type books begging me to stay, but they need to move on to new homes. I am sure there are many students out there looking for a bargain. Trying to sell Perfume... again - and learning about fees.Posted Jul-31-08 05:51:21 PDT All my listings have ended. 7 of 14 books have sold, so I am pleased. But then I figured will I relist any? You see, I listed my first batch on the special 'no list fee' offer, starting the items at 99 cents. So, I have taken the plunge and relisted one book, Perfume - the story of a murderer. And I have given it a more reasonable start price of $2.95, even though I pay 50 cents to list. It takes a fair bit of reading and comparison to understand how all the fees on eBay and at Paypal cut in and affect one's strategy. Wish me luck! Has Dale Carnegie lost his shine?Posted Jul-30-08 02:22:32 PDT Updated Jul-30-08 02:31:48 PDT I have one particular item that is about a day away from ending, which has only one bid, and I am surprised. It's Dale Carnegie's book, How to stop worrying and start living. A classic, but I admit it isn't about influencing newly won friends. I have another of Carnegie to list and wonder if I should've listed them together. Who knows? I still have alot to learn about eBay. And off they goPosted Jul-29-08 22:11:35 PDT All my sold books are now on their way to their new owners. May they be read well. So far I have found the buyers to be all quite reasonable and prompt with their payments, which is satisfying for a newbie. Dealing with books may also be an advantage, since book people tend to be reasonably rational ;-) Now I need to look at the shelves again and get another load ready for sale. Deals are donePosted Jul-27-08 02:42:26 PDT Here we go! Five of my books have been sold and now I need to get them to their new owners around Australia. I have them in padded bubble-pack satchels, addressed and all they need now is stamps - which makes me think I should have auctions end on Sunday nights, not Friday nights ;-) |
