A crinoline lady

Have you ever had a missing piece of china and been searching for years? I was missing one demitasse cup from a set of six crinoline ladies that my mum had passed down. What joy I finally found it here on ebay and the experience was made even more delightful by a beautiful seller who wrapped her in gold tissue paper, placed her in a box and wrapped that in bubble wrap and gold paper be fore putting her in a padded bag. Needless to say she arrived safe and sound and now completes my set. ahhh!

Gorgeous milk jug cover & new colclough

I've been away for a few days and of course I went browsing in an antique shop and bought a few treasures: another Colclough trio for my collection and the sweetest little milk jug cover with blue beads and a tiny cup crocheted in the centre that stands up - absolutely gorgeous!

My latest finds for you were the glass sugar bowls that ended a few hours ago. I will relist them in my store soon and you can check them out. Hope to go garage-saling (is there such a word?) again soon to find more treasures for you and I have a few more things to list from my collection.

Have a tealightful day!

Do you like visiting markets and garage sales?

Love finding a bargain? Talking to others about your your passion? Markets in the Blue Mountains are so enjoyable- there's at least 1 or 2 every weekend. As for garage sales you can't even visit them all in 1 day but they're a great day out with a friend and there are so many places to stop for tea, or even lunch.

One of my favourite places for tea is Bygone Beauties in Leura. You can see the owners teapot collection, enjoy tea, devonshire or more, even lunch or high tea, as well as browse the many things for sale - pretty china, hats, and a few vintage out-fits for afternoon tea.

Do you love tea parties and trying new tea varieties?

So tell me what is your favourite tea to drink at the moment? Mine are Madura Earl Grey and Nerada Chai, both are Australia companies, and both come in loose leaf and tea bags. Of course when I treat myself I reach for my T2 chai tea - so aromatic....with whole cardamon pods.

Did you know you can make a latte at home buy heating your milk for a minute in the microwave and then fluffing it up in a coffee plunger by pushing the plunger up and down several times. (don't put the plunger in the microwave if it has any metal parts - just the glass part). Goes great with a pot of chai tea - chai latte anyone?
