If you saw nothing else on TV this night 25 February, I hope you caught Newsnight.

I watched in part horror, incredulity and shock as the Head of the Jersey parliament (one Mr Walker) attempted to silence the Jersey MP who was speaking out against the culture of Jersey that had allowed the so called care of children to fall into the hands of paedophiles.

Caught on camera, but thinking he was off air, Mr Walker stated after a radio broadcast that the MP hero was going to spoil the image of Jersey.  The underlying message being, you'll reduce the number of visitors and reduce the tourism economy. When challenged by Paxo that he had said that, Mr Walker vehemently denied it.  It was a great piece of TV reporting and one that the BBC shines at.  Mr Walker effectively hung himself. 

With all the reporting going on about this horrific history of events that had clearly been going on the Jersey children's care home, not once did it occur to me that it would stop me going there for a holiday.  Well it has now!  There's no smoke without fire and you have to wonder what else Mr Walker knows and what he's trying to hide.
