A coach called Hubie

In 2003, I came across an internet article about former Coach of the Year and Memphis Grizzlies head coach Hubie Brown. The said article spoke of a then 70-year-old Hubie Brown who was described by some observers as a "dinosaur" in today's NBA game.

However, these people didn't realize that Hubie's old work ethic would be just what the young Grizzlies needed as Brown brought "discipline, respect and his wide range of knowledge" to his players, staff, and the Grizzlies organization.

Brown was quoted to be a man that has "few rules." The article even names two of them: "Being on time" and "Knowing when to pass or shoot."

Fast forward to 2007. No disrespect to new Memphis Head Coach Marc Iavaroni (former Phoenix Suns Head Coach), but the Grizzlies need Hubie's influence again.
