Most Recent Posts DO NOT TRUST FEDEX WITH ANYTHING OF VALUE!Posted Apr-09-08 02:47:36 PDT Last December I sold 5 ounces of 22 Karat gold buttons to a bidder in Florida. He paid $3,339 with PayPal. I called Fedex about shipping. I told them what I was shipping and what it was worth. I asked about insurance: You're covered up to $50K they said. I filled out the Airbill at the Fedex office. I asked for a signature as proof of delivery. I gave them the package and they CLAIM they delivered it. Buyer said it wasn't delivered. FedEx left the package on his porch without getting the required signature. Buyer charged back his payment and PayPal gave it to him because I had no signature. FedEx offered to compensate me with a chump check for $500 which I Promptly returned. Four demand letters to FedEx and two to Fred Smith CEO, were all answered with the same message: We limit our liability on valuable packages. I sued FedEx in Small Claims Court. Instead of getting a judgment that day, the judge claimed he needed to take it under submission, whatever that means, and I would be notified by mail. Four days later I received the judgment: I won the suit and was awarded damages in the large sum of $500...the same amount FedEx tried to buy me off with! Now I'm convinced that Justice is not only blind, but deaf as a post as well! Learn from my lesson: Do not trust FedEx with anything of value. It cost me $2,839 to learn this. They are flagrantly incompetent, dishonest and have no regard for their customers. I have no comment about the Legal System or the judge who sandbagged me by mail! |
