Insurance companies are denying claims created by people who have lost everything or almost everything because the tidal surge of Hurricane Katrina was unprecedented. Many residents were not required to purchase flood insurance in many areas that got completly washed away. Now these companies are not writing policies for homes south if Interstate 10. Our Coastline was devistated and we need help. I am creating a non-profit to help raise funds for Habitat for Hummanity and get our people back in stable homes. Our nation does not have any idea of what life is like here in Gulfport, MS. No to mention, we had several communites/cities cleaned off the face of the Earth. I plan to raise money by donations given in exchange for a coloring book for children teaching the importance of trusting your neighbor. Never did I fathom that I would wait for Georgia Power to come around our apartments to deliver hot lunches while they worked on restoring power.
