Internet Marketing Tips from Jim Boykin (SEO).Posted Oct-22-06 13:40:36 PDT Hello ebay Users! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jim Boykin, and I am an expert at Search Engine Optimization (SEO). In simple terms, search engine optimization is the process of trying to get webpages to rank highly in search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN for words that people might search for. If you're website shows up for phrases that are search a lot, it can greatly improve your sales. I'm the CEO of a company called We Build Pages, but we don't do much web design anymore. Mostly we work with existing websites with the main project being search engine optimization. We Build Pages has around 20 employees, and has been around since early 1999. Here's some internet marketing tips aimed at getting higher search engine rankings. Know the words that people are searching for that are related to what you're selling. There's a great product called wordtracker that can assist you in finding what phrases you might want to target. Once you've found the phrases you want to target, make sure that those phrases appear on your webpages, in your meta tags, and in your title tags. Next is the most important step. Search Engines place a large part of the ranking factors on "Links". To be precise, "Who Links to you". Each sites that links to your site is a "Vote" for your website, and the more votes you get, the higher you'll rank. The search engines will also look at the words that people use to link to your site, what pages they link to, what the site/page is about on the other site that links to you, who links to those who link to you, how trusted they are, etc, etc. There is a whole science behind that. There's a great SEO beginners guide published by SEOMoz that's worth reading as well. I've got a blog called "Jim Boykin's Internet Marketing Blog" that focuses on methods to increase traffic from Google and on link building methods. If you ever wish to hire an internet marketing company (SEO Company) you can also check out my company at WeBuildPages.com. Good Luck in your internet marketing and search engine optimization efforts! I'm Feeling Lucky,
