Is eBay's New Feedback System Messed Up Or What?

Take some time and read the postings located here.

This was started by an outfit that monitors a sellers DSR.  Another fancy mess that eBay has created.  Make one wonder why anyone would want to sell anything on eBay ever again.

Thanks for making me feel better. I have heard nothing but BAD BAD BAD things about Channel Advisor. Your comments simply prove to me what others have been saying about them. And with your feedback rating of 9309, I would bet you know what you are talking about.

I tried to read thru that mud...net it out for me... I spent 20 years writing performance evaluations for employees on a 1-5 scale.

A (3) meant fully satisfactory and doing your job. On a bell curve that was the top of the bell. Trying to give 4's and 5's was hard to do...but being a good boss, I was able to make it happen.

I can tell you from a Corporate postion, there is no way they can tell you as a seller a 4 is BAD!

I have to agree with you. The more I look into the "feedback nightmare" that more I believe it was created by people who are doing nothing more than empire building. People doing things to justify their jobs. People who probably never have sold a thing on eBay. Ivory Tower Gods.

Yes eBay did mess up the system. Can't eBay figure out one simple fact of life? The seller is eBay's customer. The buyer is the seller's customer. Seems pretty simple to me.

win-send-pay. I have to agree with you. The FUN is almost gone with selling on eBay. Ten years ago it was one of the delights in life, selling items and people back then appreciated what you offered. When I look back of past sales, I believe that we have well over a thousand positive feedbacks, but only six hundred or so show up. Back then we seldom worried about feedback. Then people got onto eBay and their only objective was to buy the least expensive item you offered for the sole purpose of leaving negative feedback.

This only happened to us a few times. I know others who had it happen all the time. You could not do enough to please them and still they would leave negative feedback.

NOW eBay makes it so that sellers can't leave feedback at all.

Our new policy is that we will totally abandon eBay's feedback system and even if we could leave feedback, we will not do it for anyone anymore. If we buy, we won't and if we sell we won't.
