Hi everyone...

I have a greeting card shop where I sell all my handmade cards and crafts etc. I am not selling on ebay to make millions. I do it now I have retired from work due to my disability. My work was selling my handcrafted items at craft fayres and markets.

I list my items now as I will always be making them no doubt... I really enjoy my hobby and charging what I do refills the pot to buy more materials and cover my fees , I do not charge for having paypal as an option and I try to keep my costs as low as I can for myself and my customers.

A few weeks ago business was doing really well and I thought... " I will take a more detailed look at ' selling for charity' via ebay, so... on I looked and my hubby and I read ( well, all what we thought to be correct ) the details and requirements, like was there a minimum of items you had to list etc.

seemed good to me 10% of each listing and wow I could choose all the charities I wanted to donate to ( Top of my list was unfortunate children, Animals in distress, cancer research and so on....

so off i went within my listings revising a majority of cards ( Keeping in mind most of my card are priced between 99p  ( 10% ) and up to 3.99 for keepsakes boxed  where I would donate 75% of the final sales, keeping in mind I still had to pay the listing fee the FVF just the same.

well did i have a SHOCK!! when my 1st card sold for charity. Asking price was £1.45 and 70p p&p a total of £2.15  now, take away paypal fee about 28p listing was 6p (shop inventory) Fvf 14p = 50p leaving £1.65 now take 48p off for postage only 1st class = £1.17p ....

I then recieve an email: Do not forget to donate... ok, I open the email to find I have donated £2.00 from a 10% sale of £1.45, ok... so abit slow on the uptake at the time I called for my husband.... we read and read some more and low and behold we found the donation chart. This states clearly that the minimum amount of any one sale is £2.00!

Please do not get me wrong... we will always give to charity but between ebay and missionfish... they are making it in most cases impossible for like-minded sellers whom want to help charity.

I am sure that if ebay and missionfish get together on this and lower the donation minimum that in the long run  alot more people would be able to afford to donate an amount that's right for them.

Hi all, just taking a quick break in between making some orders that have to go out today!!

I decided to work through christmas time this year as I knew sales would be relatively slow. I had a wonderful christmas and seeing our grandaughter opening her goodies from Santa was amazing.. her cute little face and her character was a real PICTURE! she is 16 months old so this was her 1st proper christmas experience... bless her.

The poster said " Why is new resolutions always about giving up something and not giving something that would benefit others i.e. volunteering to help the less fortunate.

That message really spoke to me, how right can someone be??

well, christmas time is as good as over and our new year is fast approaching!

They say " out with the old and in with the new" does this include husbands? lol on kidding, he's the best :-)

Well, i have tried to think of a new year resolution... something i know i can dedicate myself to?  still thinking, thinking some more, and a little more ....

It cannot be cutting back on crafts NO WAY! Or scrumptious FOODS,

I don't drink so it cannot be that... I do not smoke, so it cannot be that either, hmm, I guess i will just have to keep thinking about this one for now!

I wonder how many of you out there have yours set and ready for jan 1st 2008??
