I don't regret it either. My parents still let us play along with santa when we go to mall and sit on lap. WE just know it is not real. But my parents did talked to us to never tell our friends that. So we stay quiet.

Santa was a pain to me. We weren't in the same income bracket as everybody on our block. So, my kids never could figure out why all the rich kids got so many more things from Santa than they did, although they were treated well. If I had to do it over, I'd ditch Santa, and I really mean that!

Today with all the expensive electronics, starting for toddlers even, I'm sure it's even worse.

whiteshasta, my oldest sister didn't teach her kids about Santa. They are in the ministry, and for that reason they wanted to put the emphasis on where it belongs. They never regreted it and neither did their kids.

We did have a lot of fun with the Santa thing. Put boot prints in the ashes at the fireplace, etc. I know my husband wouldn't agree because he was always big on Santa Clause, but I definitely could do without him!

My dad wanted us to believe in Santa, he grew up in the mission field but my mom said no!! So they made a compromise,

1. We will not believe in Santa but we can play along at the mall and sit on his lap.
2. We will not believe in Easter Bunny but my dad can have Easter Egg hut with basket.
3. WE are allow to believe in the Tooth fairy.

My dad said he wanted us to believe in something that is not true so the truce was the tooth fairy!! LOL!!!
