Most Recent Posts My Time as An Ebayer Seller & Buyer . . . .Posted Nov-14-07 16:03:38 PST I just had to vent this on a blog . . . . I buy and sell on eBay all the time - - - mainly seem to buy though. I recently sold my entire store inventory on auctions to clean out some stuff as my storage area is overflowing. I seem to be constantly amazed at the buyers out there. Some are so friendly and considerate while others are just plain rude as can be. I am sure you other fellow sellers know exactly what I am talking about. As both a buyer and a seller I find myself or I should say try to be as pleasant to deal with as possible in the hopes of receiving the same treatment. As a seller I NEVER overcharge on shipping - I actually refund the difference if I overcharge. As a buyer I find I am constantly getting riped off on the shipping costs - sometimes as much as double the actual price if not more and this just bugs me to the bone - needless to say my policies on the shipping costs when I sell. Recently, I sold an item that could be shipped as an oversized letter instead of a parcel. I normally ship airmail with insurance for the speed and safety of the transaction. Well, I shipped this item to the buyer as an oversized letter and refunded her shipping costs - her shipping was less than $2.00. She recently emailed me to tell me that she is disappointed that she has not received her item yet - it had been 8 business days since it was shipped. I shipped it the day I received her payment, I refunded her Paypal account for the shipping difference and I marked the item shipped on the eBay auction page. I also emailed her and told her that it was shipped as an oversized letter and it may take longer to get to her, that I refunded her some of the shipping costs and that it is marked on the auction page as being shipped on that date. Short of hand delivering this $2.19 sale to her door she is not happy with my service. You would think that I am supposed control the post office as well. I find this very frustrating to say the least! It sure does not make me want to continue on eBay - - - grrr!
