I'm off for 10 days or so starting Saturday, we're going cross-country to visit the in-laws for the holidays.  Being on the road for 5 days with a 20-month-old is always SO much fun...actually, I'm only being halfway sarcastic there, he's really a joy to travel with and this should be a trip full of new discoveries and exciting things for him.  Either that or he'll spend 5 days watching Baby Einstein and Barney videos on the portable DVD player, lol.

This is in my eBay inbox, not my regular email, so it's definitely from eBay, but I'm still wondering if it's safe to open?  The subject is 176 numbers---I counted them , yes it's just random numbers, 176 of them---and it's a clickable link.  What the heck that all about??  Anybody seen one of these?  With all the stupid stuff going on on eBay lately (codes, hacks, account takeovers, etc) it wouldn't surprise me to see them lose control of their email system to an outside source.  Think this is safe to open?  The email that came to my regular inbox has a proper title, but I don't know if this is that same email just with a glitched up subject line or what.

I've found myself in an interesting buyer/seller situation, one that I've never been in before...a bidder that I had to file 4 nonpays on (all 4 are officially closed now, the bidder received the strikes, everything is over and it's been a month since the auctions ended and the bidder has never ONCE responded to any of my many attempts at contact)---is now wanting to pay.

A month gone by, numerous ignored invoices AND eBay's reminder unheeded, not to mention refusal to respond to the dispute....four negative feedbacks posted and nonpay strikes issued...and NOW he/she wants to pay me?

The explanation they offered?  Their PayPal password was compromised and they had to close their bank account.  Um...this prevents email contact...exactly...how...?

I still have 3 of the items.  I've decided not to even consider letting this person pay me for them.  Is this the right thing to do?  I feel confident that it is.  Other people got paid during the time I waited and the bidder received positive feedbacks for quick payments and good contact.  I'm sort of insulted that they even bothered to contact me this long after the disputes have been closed in my favor.  Are they CRAZY?  They'd have to be to think I would say "Oh, okay, sure, no problem...go ahead and send me a money order, I trust you to do it this time."

Gah.  Just when I thought it was over.  He/she will probably try to retaliate on feedback now, saying something along the lines of I wouldn't allow them to pay me.  It would really, really, figure.
