A personal note from an Ebay Support Person!Posted Sep-15-07 13:52:33 PDT Updated Sep-15-07 13:53:52 PDT I emailed support regarding a problem with markdown manager and received a fast reply...just a few hours. You know that alone is a miracle. But she included a lovely note as well about my store. "Also, I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was by your Store. That was so nice to get and even nicer to know someone in support is actually trying to solve problems and taking a personal interest in getting it done! Thoughts on Dogs as the Subject has been in the NewsPosted Sep-15-07 07:42:21 PDT My dog is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to $3.00 a can. That's almost $21.00 in dog money. If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then give him only two of them. If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue. The average dog is a nicer person than the average person. Have a Great Weekend! I have also included Mattel Toy Recall information on my store landing page and created a custom page just to keep my potential customers informed about these unsafe toys. I just think it is the responsible thing to do. I have been browsing some other toy sellers, including bloggers, who still have some of these recalled toys and playsets listed without any warning to the potential buyers that these items have been recalled are are likely to be unsafe for children. What responsibility do you think sellers have regarding offering these recalled toys and playsets for sale? Thanks in advance for your input. Dear Ebay...Sellers Please read and comment!Posted Aug-24-07 09:26:13 PDT Dear Ebay ....I plan to send this letter to Ebay after I get your comments and suggestions.
I am very fortunate in that I have had only the finest of ebay buyers in the past year. All but a little less than 2% paid promptly for their purchases. Almost 2 years ago though I had a buyer who didn't read the listing thoroughly and reneged on his 150.00 BIN bid. He told me straight out that if I left a negative for him, he would do the same for me. After lengthy negotiatons, he agreed to a mutual end to the transaction. I submitted the report. On the last possible day, he said he would pay for the item which he never did. So I was out the sale, the listing fees and the final value fees and had a negative comment on my permanent record. You say that a bid is a legal contract but you don't enforce it. Each bidder gets 3 "strikes" before you take any action them. You also allow them to post feedback for sellers they DID NOT PAY. By allowing non paying bidders to leave feedback you are knowingly and possibly negligently providing a means for the feedback system to be manipulated by anyone with an axe to grind. Any competitor or personal aquaintance with a grudge or any scammer can simply get another eBay id and buy anything with no intention to pay and leave negative feedback. Now that your seller's non performance policy is in effect, we smaller volume sellers are 1 or 2 negative feedback comments away from suspension. Since you are now using negative and neutral feedback comments to determine whether a seller has the right to sell, I implore you to revisit your feedback policy. The two most glaring problems with the current system are: NON-Paying Bidders are allowed to leave feedback if they respond with anything on the non paying bidders report. They can simply type a period and they earn the right to have their negative feedback stay on the seller's record forever. New ebayers who think a neutral is as good as a positive. I have seen neutrals say things such as "great experience" or "Great item and quick shipping"... Fair is fair, Ebay. Please look at these injustices in the feedback system and make it as fair as possible for both the buyer and the seller.
