Archive - March 2007 PayPal: First Class Delivery ConfirmationPosted Mar-05-07 09:43:54 PST The post office returned a First Class Mail Package with Delivery Confirmation to me because the item was under 6 ounces. The Postmaster explained to me that Delivery Confirmation can not be used for First Class or Parcel Post if the item is under 6 ounces and less than 3/4 inch thick. 9.2.2 Eligible Matter: Delivery Confirmation is available for First-Class Mail parcels defined in 401.1.0 as machinable (with no minimum weight), irregular, or outside parcels; for all Priority Mail Pieces; for Standard Mail pieces subject to the residual shape surcharge (electronic option only); and for Package Services parcels defined in 401.1.0 as machinable, irregular, or outside parcels. For the purposes of using Delivery Confirmation with First-Class Mail parcel or a Package Services parcel, the parcel must meet these additonal requirements: a. The surface area of the address side of the parcel must be large enough to contain completely and legibly the delivery address, return address, postage, and any applicable markings, endorsements, and extra service labels. b. Except as provided in 9.2.2c for machinable parcels, the parcel must be greater than 3/4 inch think as its thickest point. c. If the mailpiece is a machinable parcel (6 ounces or more) under 401.1.0 and no greater than 3/4 inch thick, the contents must be prepared in a strong and rigid fiberboard or similar container that becomes rigid after the contents are enclosed and the container is secured. The parcel must be able to maintain its collapsing into a letter-size or flat-size piece. 9.2.4 Ineligible Matter Delivery Confirmation is not available for the following: a. Express Mail and Periodicals pieces. b. First-Class Mail and letter-size and flat-size pieces. The Postmaster told me not to select Delivery Confirmation. I told the Postmaster that PayPal does not give you an option of NOT selecting Delivery Confirmation. I sent an email to PayPal letting them know about the Delivery Confirmation issue but I doubt that they will ever do anything about it.
Thrift StorePosted Mar-05-07 04:53:15 PST Updated Mar-05-07 06:27:47 PST I went to the thrift store on Saturday but I must not have been in shopping mode because I only spent $4.00 plus tax. The stuff I bought kind of sucks - a bag of toy jeeps from Hot Wheel for $1.95, a Paddington Bear without his hat for $1 and and a Starz Barbie for another $1. I should have bought some of the coffee mugs or soup mugs that were there. I'm not sure if they would have done well but they were kind of cute. There just wasn't much or I was being way too picky. I'm in the process of reading a book called Thrift Score by Al Hoff so I can learn how to shop smarter. I have made profit in the past on some of my thrift store finds but lately they have not been turning into gold. I'm hoping that this book might give me some inspiration to pick out some winning finds. My biggest find was a SAWA 2000 Cookie Press that I bought for $.95 and sold for $31.00. I keep looking at the shelves but I haven't found another like it. What is the best item you found at a Thrift Store or Garage Sale? |
