As far as action and adventure goes, Tintin the adventuring boy reporter sets a high bar. Tintin is a comic book character, but don't let the comic book format dissapoint you. Most comic books appear tacky to me and I'm not a comic book reader at all, because most comics are basically boring and useless to me, however far from it, Tintin by Herge is a MUST READ. Like I say, I don't read comics, except for Tintin, but Tintin is so cool, I have collected all the episodes.

Im not the only fan on Tintin's either. STEVEN SPEILBERG and PETER JACKSON are big Tintin fans too. So much so to the point where they have both decided to make a Tintin movie to be released next year in 2008 and two more movies to follow after that!

This is great news for adventurers everywhere, because there aint no greater adventurer than Tintin - except maybe Errol Flynn - whos real life adventures were actually more risky and amazing than his onscreen Hollywood adventures. The Blue Lotus and Cigars of the Pharoh are two books that cover one story. Cigars of the pharoah is book one, and the Blue Lotus is book two. So read them in that order. The Blue Lotus is a better book, but they are both excellent. To get to know the Tintin series why not start with these two books and have a look? Tintin Books are a great christmas present for the kids, because they are children's books, but just like the Simpsons, me and my mates who grew up reading Tintin and watching the Simpsons, - we still watch the simpsons and we still read Tintin as adults. This is because Tintin is suitable for all ages. Thats one of its strong points.
