EBAY IS F*CKING ME OVER!

DID YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU SELL ITEMS THAT ARE PRONE TO BEING BOUGHT BY COUNTERFEIGHTERS THAT EBAY WILL PUT RESTRICTIONS ON YOUR ACCOUNT? LOOK AT THIS, I JUST TRIED TO REVISE A LISTING THAT I HAVE BEEN CHARGED LISTING FEES FOR AND THIS IS WHAT I GOT...

"In order to maintain a safe trading environment, selling limits are occasionally placed on accounts listing items that are reportedly favored by counterfeiters. At this time, you are limited in the number of items you can list (or revise) in any 7 day period."

I HAVE A FAIRLY LOW RATING OF 34 SALES, BUT I ALSO HAVE SEVERAL REPEAT SALES THAT DO NOT COUNT IN THAT FIGURE. MY FEEDBACK SCORE IS 100% AND I AM A VERIFIED PAYPAL CUSTOMER. HOW DOES LIMITING MY ABILITY TO REVISE MY ITEMS DO ANYTHING TO STOP COUNTERFEIGHTERS FROM BUYING THEM? IF ANYTHING EBAY IS MAKING IT EASIER FOR THEM, SINCE I CANNOT REVISE PRICES OR ANYTHING. IF THIS PERSISTS, I WILL BE MOVING ALL OF MY AUCTIONS TO MY OWN DOMAIN AND STARTING A CATALOG PAGE WITH ITEMS FOR SALE. I AM OUTRAGED THAT I CAN BE CHARGED AN INSERTION FEE AND THEN HAVE THIS OCCUR, THIS IS ABSURD!!!!!

they do it to me too, then i end up with two listings the same, i had to contact them to get my fees back..i hate that :( sorry

it happened to me to over electronics! 3 times Paypal froze my account and Ebay suspended us twice- over NOTHING- high risk items they said- biggest headache of my life!

Sorry you have to deal with that. There has to be a reason the rule was implemented though. I didn't have to deal with that when I started selling.

S*it happens. I also sell items that are favored by counterfeiters and they sell for all of $2.49 and they do it to me too! What amazes me though is I see people (even here on the blogs) that ACTUALLY sell the counterfeits and they are able to list and sell them. For me that sells the AUTHENTIC brand name item it's frustrating! So I hear ya!

pegonthe-bay, I will not stop selling anything because eBay implements secret little rules... I will just sell them elsewhere. It is a rediculous rule that has no relevant reasoning behind it (at least, not when sales are limited to the US only), you can go to the resale store and buy or sell these items and all of my software items are GENUINE. But in reference to your comment... if you don't like my comments, then don't come to my blog. ROFLMMFAO! j/k

Well, I guess at least I know now that I am not the only one they are picking on. It is rather disturbing to list something, pay the insertion fees and then not be able to revise it. They should set it up so that it informs you before you list your item, not after. That would be slightly more logical than taking someone's money and then telling them, ya know? THANKS FOR ALL THE COMMENTS THOUGH!!!

I don't blame you -- 'reportedly favoured by counterfitters' - they don't mean things that counterfitters often like TO BUY, they mean things for sale that are often turn out to BE counterfits - ie, bootlegs, for instance -- they're trying to think up a nice way to say they think you might be a thief... I wouldn't be too happy, neither!

INDEED! We paid good money for these items when they were new (REALLY GOOD MONEY!), it's really sad they let me list them and then try to tell me nicely that they think that I might be a counterfeighter or that I am selling to counterfeighters on purpose. If I sold these at a resale shop, nobody would ever even pay attention to who bought them, so perhaps I should just end them all and take them there!!! I don't even get anything close to what this stuff retailed for when we bought it, so it is already bad enough that I'm losing money to resell it, but then to charge me and then tell me... well, that just seems very unfair, they should really make the rules available before we list items, NOT AFTER. That's my only real complaint.

The funniest part is... I was trying to revise my items to include a statement about not shipping to Canada, South America, Mexico, or Internationally because so many people keep asking and I didn't want to send anything to a country where things such as counterfeighting are common. BUT NOW... I can't even do that. I'm still waiting for a response from eBay... I'm guessing that I probably won't get one.

Oh and pegonthe-bay, how do I know your jewelry isn't counterfeight... or stolen for that matter? Ya know what I mean? It would be just as easy for someone to fence stolen property as it would be for someone to sell counterfeight goods... You better watch out, you might be next! Oh, but I suppose it wouldn't matter as much to you, since you already have a higher rating than me, huh?

Okay... I just pulled all of my auctions, except the one's that had bid, because I could not edit the errors in them. Sorry eBay, but I need my insertion fee back now.

pegonthe-bay I'm just playing about the stolen stuff and higher rating LOL, I'm pretty sure you don't have any bad items or feedback. I get a bit sarcastic with my humor, and eBay seems to feed it. heh... on with the auctions, I guess... I know that I'm getting nowhere now!
