Okay. Here are a few tips on the subject. If you care about understanding what God wants you to know. When studying the bible (and it is relevant to us all- Don't you want to know how you can KNOW whether or not you are going to heaven when you die?)....keep  in mind these tips and apply when obviously appropriate.

1. Take note of WHO the book is written to. Is it the Jews? Christians?

2. Take everything in CONTEXT. Don't make it out to be what YOU think it should say. Let the bible explain itself.

3. Compare SCRIPTURE with SCRIPTURE. The bible even tells us this. The bible isn't going to contradict itself. IT back itself up throughout the entire bible. That is why these and many other points are necessary to keep in mind.

What do you think the entire theme of the bible is about? I mean, the entire, overall-achieving theme.  Any idea? You might be surprised to know that it is NOT all about being saved, going to heaven, escaping hell or God's judgement. Its NOT about being a good person, pleasing God, etc.. If your church, religious organization or priest has told you that you yourself cannot possibly figure it out for yourself because the bible is too hard to understand, well, you've been duped (that is if you let them stop you from trying). The bible does have its hard parts but it was written for us to know things that God wants for us to know.

Now don't get me side-tracked... back to the theme. Its what all the prophets of the bible talked about (read the prophetic old testament books in the bible), its what Revelation is about ....it started before God created man in the Garden of Eden....if you look, if you study carefully, you can see it throughout the bible. What is it?

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Okay- I'll tell you now...its simply and not so simply about a Kingdom, a Throne and WHO is going to sit on that throne. But there is soooo much more...next Monday morning I'll try to give you a few rules or tips about bible study so you can find answers for yourself from the bible...free of course!

Well, if you read my recent post about my sick boys this is a continuation of this saga in our life....yesterday mommy's instinct told me I needed to take my 3yr. old to the doctor's...Well, they had to work us in so we went and sat in the waiting room....there were other work-ins there also...but it surprisingly didn't take very long to get us to the examination room where we were to wait again...perhaps it was because he was the only one out there hacking out coughs to scare an adult? So we were sent to a room that I'd never been in before and looked like it was part storage...oh well. Someone else had been there, there was a Cinderella book laying on the table/bed so I read him that. Ok, nurse says temp is 102degrees and she leaves...after what seemed like too long a wait and me holding my 40" or so tall 3yr old I open the door to question his temp not being taken care of and what if it went up? Nurse says they don't have anything to bring it down...Nice...She checks again and it is stable at 102. Forward ahead about 2 hrs after we walked in we've seen the doc, my son has bronchitis, we've had xrays and they look pretty good but may be something else there...they will call me if its pneumonia after the radiologist can look at them....they fax a prescription to the pharmacy and we are on our way home! Now home, forward ahead about 5-6 hours, son  has been sleeping them away and no peeing since this morning...I call doc's office....son has one hour to pee or else its to the ER....husband concerned...not that he doesn't care about our son, he does of course, but a trip to the ER will cost us $200 just to visit and that is our insurance copay....son doesn't pee for dad.....a little later  though son does give us the pee....SAVE!   Who'd ever think a peein' was worth so much!!

Yes, that was my 3 yr old...about 1:15am or somewhere in the vicinity of that time of day when all moms and dads are wishfully sleeping..... My head shot up from the pillow and looked to the doorway to find him...my 3yr old from whose voice I heard his plea for help with his nose problems. Life with sick kids..not fun for anyone...both my little boys are sick...that usually happens when one of them is sick. Almost iron-clad guarantee that the other one will follow suite and likely mom will get ill too. For the last 3 nights all has not been well here at our home...at least 2 if not all 3 nights my husb. and I have been getting up almost hourly it seems with one or the other boy.  Anyways...here's to all parent's or care-givers who rise up early in the morning or dead of night to lovingly wipe away someone's troubled boogers! Cheers!

Just sharing what I found in some items I had to sell....a small rock collection with location and dating from the 1960's and a couple odd pieces looked ancient? I did some research, emailed pics to Yale Unv. Museum, The Phoenix NYC on ebay, and some other places and it appears I have common Inca pcs. from the 15th-16th century. I have them listed on ebay now. Its pretty cool to hold something in your hand that may be 500 yrs old!
