The $200 tinkle!Posted Jan-23-08 08:56:16 PST Well, if you read my recent post about my sick boys this is a continuation of this saga in our life....yesterday mommy's instinct told me I needed to take my 3yr. old to the doctor's...Well, they had to work us in so we went and sat in the waiting room....there were other work-ins there also...but it surprisingly didn't take very long to get us to the examination room where we were to wait again...perhaps it was because he was the only one out there hacking out coughs to scare an adult? So we were sent to a room that I'd never been in before and looked like it was part storage...oh well. Someone else had been there, there was a Cinderella book laying on the table/bed so I read him that. Ok, nurse says temp is 102degrees and she leaves...after what seemed like too long a wait and me holding my 40" or so tall 3yr old I open the door to question his temp not being taken care of and what if it went up? Nurse says they don't have anything to bring it down...Nice...She checks again and it is stable at 102. Forward ahead about 2 hrs after we walked in we've seen the doc, my son has bronchitis, we've had xrays and they look pretty good but may be something else there...they will call me if its pneumonia after the radiologist can look at them....they fax a prescription to the pharmacy and we are on our way home! Now home, forward ahead about 5-6 hours, son has been sleeping them away and no peeing since this morning...I call doc's office....son has one hour to pee or else its to the ER....husband concerned...not that he doesn't care about our son, he does of course, but a trip to the ER will cost us $200 just to visit and that is our insurance copay....son doesn't pee for dad.....a little later though son does give us the pee....SAVE! Who'd ever think a peein' was worth so much!! 1847 Rogers Bros Daffodil silver ware and MORE!Posted Jan-21-08 14:45:25 PST See all the various vintage silver ware on in my store....ending soon! Also gently used women's and children's clothing and pillow cases and more! "I got boogers"...I heard him say in the wee hours of the AM...Posted Jan-21-08 10:13:49 PST Yes, that was my 3 yr old...about 1:15am or somewhere in the vicinity of that time of day when all moms and dads are wishfully sleeping..... My head shot up from the pillow and looked to the doorway to find him...my 3yr old from whose voice I heard his plea for help with his nose problems. Life with sick kids..not fun for anyone...both my little boys are sick...that usually happens when one of them is sick. Almost iron-clad guarantee that the other one will follow suite and likely mom will get ill too. For the last 3 nights all has not been well here at our home...at least 2 if not all 3 nights my husb. and I have been getting up almost hourly it seems with one or the other boy. Anyways...here's to all parent's or care-givers who rise up early in the morning or dead of night to lovingly wipe away someone's troubled boogers! Cheers!

I did some research, emailed pics to Yale Unv. Museum, The Phoenix NYC on ebay, and some other places and it appears I have common Inca pcs. from the 15th-16th century. I have them listed on ebay now. Its pretty cool to hold something in your hand that may be 500 yrs old! Hot dogs for breakfast?Posted Jan-17-08 05:21:00 PST Yes, my 3 and 1 yr olds are eating hot dogs for breakfast this lovely cold morning at 8:10am. The oldest didn't want the normal breakfast fair, he wanted a hot dog...that was after he had 2 pieces of cheese. At first I wasn't going to do it, but I realized, he's like his mom...sometimes I'd rather eat left over lasagna or pizza for breakfast (just to name a couple antibreakfast foods). So I fixed him and my youngest each a hot dog since I knew better than to give just one of them a hot dog and not the other and I...had cheddar cheese with Wasa Sourdough crackers and apple juice! Is that PINK crayon on my wall!Posted Jan-16-08 07:28:24 PST Just a mommy moment here....I heard the sound of something running along my wall and refused to believe (I guess) that it could truly be my boys coloring on the wall. We just don't have that problem here....sure enough, each boy had a different shade of PINK and they were creating a mural on my living room cream colored painted wall! After some positive reinforcement was strategically placed on a derier or two (yes, that is legal here) and a soapy washcloth placed in the hand of the oldest as well....I went back to my work as he complained and cried that the pink would not come off the wall. Hmmm, no kidding? I knew it would probably take more than soap and water but he needed to be part of the solution to this mess that he helped create and in part led- being the oldest. Ater a few minutes, I took over and added some baking soda to see if that worked and sure enough- some gritty soda took off almost all of the crayon! Yeah, I don't have to go out and buy MR. CLEAN afterall! The moral here- baking soda is good for more than baking!
