Most Recent Posts SAFE HARBOR POINTS SHOOTS AND PLAYS THE BLOCK BULLY AGAIN, THEN GOES DEAF!!!Posted Oct-25-07 15:47:30 PDT Apparently the Powersellers Group has decided to follow in the foot In a recent accusation made by Safe Harbor of knowingly & willing allowing shill bidding to take place involving our account and due to a former employee intending to due harm to our financial well being we have been accused of violating eBay policies. We have presented both PowerSellers and Safe Harbor with information and facts, also we have pending legal actions against the former employee. But as usual with Ebay there is no listening to both sides of anything, Safe Harbor wears With the Safe Harbors actions and now Power Sellers lack of Support for a Long Term The individual responsible for the causing the infraction has effectively With the limitations on our sales abilities in just Four (4) days, we have already With that being said DO YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT WE WOULD INTENTIONALLY RISK WHAT WE HAVE NOW LOST BY INVOLVING OURSELVES IN SUCH A MEANINGLESS ACT. Between the extreme cost and the inconsistent concern for Ebay THEN when interacting with the Safe Harbor Now #2 Ebay as an organization does not conduct business during normal business hours, never allowing for time to interact much as this notice from PowerSellers appearing on You would think the Department designed to set the example for the PowerSellers on Ebay would do so by COMMUNICATING in a Business like and professional manner. At this point I request that both PowerSellers Representatives & Safe Harbors actions be Ebay should figure it this way, I could want financial compensation for lost sales and for our employees loss of wages due to thier actions. EBAY MOTORS PARTS CAR POLICY AND CHANGES THAT ARE NEEDEDPosted Aug-11-07 15:04:51 PDT I don't know who your are but a lot of your information in your post about what is a parts car is good, but not accurate by all state laws i.e. MY POST FROM THIS MORNING THAT WAS PULLED BECAUSE EBAY DOESN'T WANT ANYONE TO NO THAT THEY ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT AND CAN NOT STAND CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM WHEN IT IS DUE: SO I AM ADDRESSING YOU AS THE KNOWLEDGE BASE OF EBAY {WHAT IS A PARTS CAR) AND CHALLENGING YOU TO EXPLAIN HOW EBAY CAN EXPECT USERS TO CIRCUMVENT THE LAWS OF THEIR STATE TO MEET THE RIDICULOUS CRITERIA EBAY HAS SET FORTH IN THIS CATEGORY. The issue is not what is a parts car , but the fact that EBAY feels as if it is LOOSING THE ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR. I SUGGEST THIS ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO DO AWAY WITH THE PARTS CAR CATEGORY ALL TOGETHER AND BLANKET ALL VEHICLES PARTS CAR OR OTHERWISE, TITLE OR NO TITLE all as the same, with the same FEE STRUCTURE Again I emphasize THIS WHOLE DEBATE IS NOT ABOUT LAW OR RIDICULOUS RULES, IT IS ABOUT THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE IN FEES BETWEEN THE PARTS CAR AND REGULAR MOTOR VEHICLE CATEGORIES AND USING IT AS AN EXCUSE TO FORCE SELLERS FOLLOWING THE LAWS OF THEIR STATE TO MAKE CHOICES & TAKE RISK THAT SHOULD NEVER EVEN BE CONTEMPLATED BY THE SELLER OR EBAY MANAGEMENT. THIS IS A HORSE I AM GOING TO RIDE UNTIL THERE IS A CHANGE THAT MAKES THIS FAIR TO ALL SELLERS!!!! HERE IS MY POST THAT EBAY MOTORS SO PROMPTLY PULL THIS MORNING SO I HAVE IT ON MY BLOG PAGES BOTH ON AND OFF EBAY and I included in my newsletter that I send out to all of our ebay followers asking FOR THE VOICES OF THOSE WHO MAKE EBAY WHAT IT IS ON A DAILY BASIS TO BE HEARD AND LISTEN TO FOR ONCE. EBAY SAFE HARBOR RIDES AGAIN INTO THE SEA OF STUPIDITY AGAIN THANK YOU FOR YOUR LACK OF COURTESY AND FOR NOT BEING AWARE OF THE FACT THAT OUR STATE IOWA LAWS REQUIRE A TITLE & OR DOCUMENTATION TO OBTAIN ONE BE PROVIDED WITH ALL VEHICLES SOLD IN THE STATE (UNLESS YOU HAVE A SALVAGE DEALERS OR JUNKERS LICENSE / PERMIT), ANY NON AUTO -LICENSED BUSINESS SELLING ANY TYPE OF VEHICLE, SUCH AS INDIVIDUALS, EBAY DROP OFF STORES LIKE OURS, AUCTION COMPANIES ETC MUST PROVIDE THE PAPERWORK REQUIRED BY THE STATE OR ELSE WE ARE IN VIOLATION OF THE STATE MANDATED LAWS. EBAY MOTORS POLICIES CAN NEVER BY LAW ASK A SELLER TO PUT THEMSELVES, THEIR BUSINESS AND LIVELIHOODS AT RISK BY CIRCUMVENTING THE LAWS IS RIDICULOUS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY AND CHANGED. ALSO CONTACTING A SELLER AFTER THE ACT OF REMOVING A LISTING HAS ALREADY OCCURRED IS NOT COURTEOUS IN ANY WAY, WHEN IN 99% OF THE CASES THE ISSUE COULD BE SOLVED WITH A SIMPLE AND IN MOST CASE LESS THAN 30 SECOND REVISION OF THE AS LISTING BY THE SELLER USUALLY THIS COULD HAPPEN WHILE THE PHONE CONVERSATION IS TAKING PLACE. THESE COMMENTS ARE GOING TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RE-LISTING OF THIS VEHICLE SO THAT THIS ISSUE IS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF AS MANY EBAYERS, SELLERS AND BUYERS A LIKE. THANK YOU TO THE MANAGEMENT OF EBAY MOTORS, TRUST & SAFETY AND SAFE HARBOR SHOWING THEIR IGNORANCE OF THE LAWS & PROCLAIMING THEMSELVES GOD ALL AGAIN. QUESTIONS, COMMENTS ARE WELCOME FROM ALL, BOTH ABOUT THE RANGE ROVER & ABOUT THIS EBAY POLICY THAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED AND QUICKLY. DAVE RIETTER C.O.O. USOLDWHAT AUCTIONS, R & R SALES, IOWA STATE SURPLUS SALE & ARMADILLO SHIELDS INC. WAL-MART AND EBAY, WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT RISING COST OF DOING BUSINESS WITH EITHER OF THEM!Posted Apr-06-07 06:00:53 PDT I know time is money for all of us but take a few moments and do a little math and tell me what you think will help. To all that have commented I greatly appreciate the feedback and support, I want to say the WAL-MART anology is a great one, both Wal-Mart and Ebay have been featured on a News program and the similarities of the management theories for both are scary, they both proclaim to be there for the communities, while reaping huge profits and continuosly increasing the cost and narrowing the product selection. They both also proclaim to be huge contributors through Charities to give back to the communtiy, but when you get the numbers and compare the numbers it works out to less than 1% of the enormous profits they both make. I keep telling myself, SELLERS MADE EBAY BY POSTING ITEMS THAT BUYERS WOULD CONSIDER AND YET THE BUYERS TODAY DO NOTHING BUT COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW HIGH OUR PRICES ARE AND THAT THE COST OF SHIPPING IS TO HIGH AND THAT SELLERS ARE CHEATING THEM BY CHARGING A MINIMAL PACKING AND HANDLING FEE (Ours is $2.50 per item), MAYBE IF THEY SAW THE COST WE PAY TO EBAY AND PAYPAL THEY MIGHT UNDERSTAND. I think it is time that Ebay helps the seller by charging a BUYERS PREMIUM as is the norm in the live auction world acrossed the country. Liquidations.com started asking their BUYERS to pay a (5%) buyers fee based on final value and their membership (Buyers) has increased two fold over the last 18 months. What do you Think is Best or even just Better. THANK YOU TO ALL, BUT WE NEED BIG NUMBERS TO MAKE EBAY EVEN LISTEN FOR A SECOND TELL ME MORE, FEE's & WHAT CAN BE DONE!Posted Apr-06-07 05:58:25 PDT Hello To all and thank you all for the great comments, I would love to hear from more sellers, There is strength in Numbers when change is needed. We all know other sellers and we need hundreds and even thousands of comments agreeing or disagreeing in order to present an objective proposal to The God's Of Ebay & Paypal. I am asking everyone who reads my blog to comment so I can do just that. We recently bid for a contract with the State of Iowa to sell all of the surplus IT equipment and State Police Impounds, the biggest concern the State had was that all FEE'S had to be included in the proposed bid percentage so after weeks of calculating we came up with a sliding scale that we use in our live auctions and have for 10 years it looks like this: 40% commission on items selling for $.01 - $25 35% commission on items selling for $25.01 - $100 30% commission on items selling for $100.01 - $500 25% commission on items selling for $500.01 - $1,000 20% commission on items selling for $1,000.01 - $2,500 17% commission on items selling for $2,500.01 - $5,000 15% commission on items selling for $5,000.01 - $10,000 10% commission on items selling for $10,000.01 - $20,000 8% commission on items selling for $20,000.01 & Greater 20% commission on All Vehicles & Capitol Equipment Maybe Ebay should eliminate all Fee's and just charge one flat rate percentage based on the final value, that way those of us selling higher ticket items should save on Fee's and those selling the lower priced "JUNK" that someone mentioned will pay a greater amount. In our live sales we did this because we needed to clear out the "GARAGE SALE" items as they out numbered quality draw items 100 to 1 and that is not what we want to present to the public attending our auctions. I certainly do not proclaim to have the answer but if enough of us put our heads together we should be able to present something credible to Ebay! I know time is money for all of us but take a few I knew I shouldn't do math at 2 a.m.Posted Feb-24-07 01:03:45 PST In the example I gave, I said 100 items at $1 each = $100 x 52 weeks = ($520) it should have been $5200 annually Welcome to The Usoldwhat! Blog, Can we Talk?Posted Feb-24-07 00:58:17 PST Hello, My wife and I have been selling on Ebay for 10 years this year. What started as a $50 (ebay fee's) a month hobby has grown into a ($2000 a month eBay fee's) full-time 5 employee operation liquidating Estate Assets, Unclaimed freight, overstock merchandise and more. We have sold items from .99 to $100,000 here on eBay! We started as a hobby for fun, then added eBay to our Live Auction Company as an alternative for our consigners, now it is the mainstain of our company listing 300-500 items weekly. We have seen the fee's for every little tool eBay has added over the years start out as a free option and increase to thier current levels. We started looking into alternatives late last year due to the fee's vs sell through ratio dropping dramatically in the last quarter of 06 and found a very forward thinking on line auction company called On Line Auctions.com. They offer the traditional type of listings and many advanced types not yet adapted by eBay. They also offer a flat-rate unlimited listing basic fee structure for High volume sellers that you can pay annually (around $200 a year), while they have fee's similar to eBay's structure they are far less including things like gallery, featured, additional photo's, bold and highlighted titles etc. We have now opened two brick a motar retail stores to support our eBay operations, advertising Ebay and all its attributes on our website, in local and state-wide papers and pulications, in brochures that go into every eBay item we sell when shipped and more. We feel that it is time that Power Sellers and High Volume Sellers that make Ebay what it is today get a break and we don't mean (OOH SPECIAL LISTING DAYS!) eBay wants to be the INDUSTRY (not just the leader!) and in order to show their loyalty to those of us that have supported it since the begining (and I mean when you could call and talk to Meg, beginning), We think it is time for them to look at new ways to say we want you to stay, grow and be apart of the eBay experience for the next Decade! Folks we want to hear from you as to how you think eBay can better support sellers, how the fee structure can be made more affordable, what features that currently cost us all extra can be done without or included in the basic listing fee (i.e. gallery, bold, highlighted titles). We plan to compile information and suggested to take to EBAY LIVE IN BOSTON and hopefully present them to Ebay as a voice of the sellers that make it all happen. We feel that the sellers have carried the load for 10 years and now it's time for Ebay to step up with some new and cost effective incentives to reward us all, remember if we all stop selling there wouldn't be an Ebay. An example of what we want to purpose would be something like this: A seller lists 100 items a week at a Flat rate of $1.00 (including gallery & closing cost)=$100 a week x 52 weeks = $520 a year. Currently this same concept cost on average $3.25 per item plus paypal fee's which makes it $4 +/- or around $400 a week or $20800 annually. (In our case you can multiply this by 2.25 and see what we mean by COST OF DOING BUSINESS has gone up). Another idea is for Pay Pal fees to be waived on all items paid for from one Pay Pal user to another, ( they would still apply to credit cards and echecks payments made using pay pal). There are hundreds of ideas out there in your heads and we want to take as many CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS as we can to eBay live. Please share them with us and here on the blog for others to mull over, some of the best ideas come from the customers in any business and a business that doesn't listen is missing out on opprotunities to grow and better itself. Let's help eBay stay around another 10 years for all of us to enjoy! Just a P.S. ( I recently spoke to an eBay customer support manager in the Powersellers department about some of the fee structure issues and when I stated that at the present rate of increase annually I figured she would be unemployed within the next 5 years and eBay wouldn't exist as the industry leader or at all, you could hear her jaw hit the desk!) Please don't put sarcastic or hurtfull comments up, lets keep it to POSITIVE, CONSTRUCTIVE, CONCEPTS & CHANGES that will help Ebay and Sellers! Thank you for making to the end, let us hear from you!
