We bought 3 Tilia Foodsavers from the cheapest to the most expensive Professional III. We burned them all out in a year or two. They also will not seal the wet bag and we lost seals in the freezer. We bought the VacMaster Pro150 from Cabella's and sent it back it did not work at all. That thing is really junk. It is pretty and stainless steel but I won't work and the screws fell out of it.
We just bought a VacUpack because my friend has one that is really old. This machine packs so much better. It packs tighter and when the bag is wet with fish or blood from meat or what ever. It took some getting used to because it works so much different than the Foodsaver channel machines. If this thing holds up like my friends has over the years. I think I finally found somthing that packs it tight and works even with my fish and wet meat.
How come this thing is so hard to find?
So glad you like your machine. It really is pretty amazing that the VacUpack has been on the market for so many years and still out works all the new stuff that is coming out. But things were just built better 23 years ago and no one has ruined this machine with big corporate mass production. It still has pride in production and quality because the same people still love their job and are proud of their work, even after 20 years.
We have had a VacUpack in our home for so many years. We love it so much we have gotten one for all our family and friends. Every once and a while we get to resell the demonstration models for the main company. They are really nice and a great price. If you are looking for a machine that stands on it's own merits and not major national advertising you should get a VacUpack.
Our machine is 12 years old. Tuned it up for the 2nd time last year and it runs like a new one. We really like that we can use many styles of bags and are not stuck with one brand. There is a big difference in bag material some of it is so thin and breaks so easy.
