sells the broken iPods, because they realy cant fix it. Official Apple
service will charge alot for HDD fix and sometimes they cant do that. Not all of HDD's are broken. Mostly the HDD can freeze after a little shock or drop down. This is because of construction of this type of Hard Disks. In result the HDD head can freeze at place betwen the disk and parking zone. Due this you need to open the iPod carefuly, deattach the hard drive, unscrew it and try to open the top cover. You can open the cover not a completely, but only the part where is the head mounted and the magnets are. This type of HDD's are not vacuum packed, so you dont have to worry about how to screw it back. Just try to do all these things in clear room. With a screwdriver (thin) try to move the head of HDD to parking zone (another side from disk). You may hear a little click when the head will park to parking zone. Close the HDD cover and screw it back. Connect your HDD to ipod and try to start it. Enjoy. Get back to me with a results. Regards! |
