Archive - February 2007 American Idol: The Answers....Posted Feb-28-07 22:59:11 PST Updated Feb-28-07 23:01:39 PST OK. Spoiler alert here. I don't want to brag, but I do know the answers to American Idol. Not all of them, but some. Among the men, the most successful male performer will be none other than Mr. Blake Lewis. Notice, I'm not necessarily picking him to win, just because you can never tell. However, in terms of successful musical careers, this guy is going to go far. I mean, c'mon. He took on Jamiroquai and did pretty well. That's good stuff. Now, if I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Melissa Doolittle to win the thing outright. She's got the whole package in terms of talent and charisma. As for the best judge, that's easy: Randy. What can I say, Dawg? An Inconvenient TruthPosted Feb-03-07 11:22:20 PST Last night I watched the movie An Inconvenient Truth (the Al Gore Global Warming movie.) If you have kids, there is no way this movie cannot have a profound effect. Today, a headline on the front page of the New York Times read: "Science Panel Says Global Warming is 'Unequivocal'." There is no way to deny the science anymore (though people still try) and the only remaining question is how severe and how soon the impact will be. The good news is that its not too late to make meaningful changes, but they need to be large-scale and significant. Most parents spend considerable time and effort trying to make sure that our kids have all the benefits we did. Lots of progress has been made, but I'm beginning to realize that all the educational, financial and emotional security that we can provide could be overshadowed by something as basic as the future of the planet. If anybody knows of organizations that are making an impact, please feel free to post a reply here. I'm hopeful that we can use technology like the Internet (didn't Al Gore invent that anyway :) ) to help make a difference. |
