Smell item. 2. Ask self, "Does said clothing item smell like a meadow breeze, tropical rain, or any other air freshener scent?" 3a. If Yes, hang up in closet or put back in dresser. 3b. If No, ask self, "Would you sit next to someone on the bus who smelled like this?" 3b-a. If Yes, hang up or put back in dresser. 3b-b. If No, place in hamper. DOLLS, DOLLS AND DOLLSPosted Aug-04-08 12:26:50 PDT Doll fever is contagious. I was 52 years old when I became aware of the doll collecting world, and holy smokes was I awakened to the fever of wanting dolls for my curio cabinets, corners in my home, gifts and my Ebay store. Everywhere I shop I look for dolls! It is a madness you can not stop after you caught the collector bug. I figured there are 3 main categories of dolls, Antique Dolls, Vintage Dolls, and Modern Dolls. The Antique Doll is 100 years or older. A Vintage doll is 99 to 15 years old. The Modern Doll is 14 years old to the current year. Dolls have been made from every conceivable material: bisque, celluloid, china, clay. cloth. corn husks, paper, polymer clay, porcelain, resin, rubber, vinyl, wax, wood, bone, ivory, paper-mache, leather and etc.... Doll hospitals do many repairs and restorations of antique and other dolls. Many doll hospitals have been operating for decades. For those doll collectors who do not repair or restore dolls, find a good doll hospital. I use to avoid doll shows and doll actions. "Now" I either go or goggle or shop Ebay to see what kinds of dolls I can find. I search to add to my collection of German Bisque dolls and dolls made in the 1910 to 1960 Era. I search for special dolls to place in my Ebay store "Vicky's Place Collectible Art Curio." Free Quick*Sell Gallery from ISDN*tek |
