Does Bush and Hitler really have the hand in common? My golly it is the 4th of July!

In America we used to say the Pledge by raising our had that way. It came from Rome, it was the Roman salute. We stoped doing that in the 1930's because Hitler and his Nazi party was doing it and we did not want Amerian kids to get confused, thus the had was put over the heart. However prior to 1930 we held up our right had in the Roman salute just like what you see there!

Hi morgana A roman salute -I did not know-Thanks. I went to the university of Texas-graduated 1978. Bachelor in Science in Nursing-I do remember the days-lots of work and studying. Keep focused and don't stop for anything, then take a break after you graduate-BEST WISHES VICKY

oops! I had right shoulder surgery 2 weeks ago, pain-narcotics, and learning to be a lefty make my mind fell like the ocean. my typing is mostly left handed and should be right handed. A peace sign uM. my husband is a historian and a famous palmist-he probably knows-Thanks.
