We have been adopted!!!

Yesterday we decided to go purchase curtains for several rooms in our house. When we got home, we stopped at the mailbox to get the mail and saw a flyer for a missing kitty. The kitty looked adorable, but we hadn't seen it.

We drove the rest of the way home and brought our purchases inside and proceded to hang curtains in my office. While we were hanging them, we had the window open and could hear some pretty sad and loud meowing. Of course we looked out the window and saw a kitty; a kitty that looked exactly like the picture on the flyer. My son and I went outside and while I retrieved the kitty, he went back to the mailbox to get the number of the "owner". Well, my son called the number and they stated that the kitty wasn't theirs. My son said "Are you sure?" because the one we found looks just like the picture. The lady said "No it is not ours. I am looking at it right now."

I fed the kitty some milk because it was hot outside and it looked thirsty, but we didn't have anything else to give it. This kitty is so sweet. It loves to be held and cuddled and meows for attention.

After the kitty drank some milk, we decided to walk the neighborhood to see if we could find the owner. No one is missing a cat. We even left our number on the houses that we know have cats; just in case. We have one neighbor that has several cats, so I just waited to ask her when she got home. She wasn't missing one either, but she did give me some food for our new found friend.

I decided to name it Sami because we don't know for sure yet what gender it is. I still have to take it to the vet to get checked out and also to make sure it is spayed or neutered. We have decided to keep Sami, so today my son and I went to PetSmart and I spent money on good food; both wet and dry, kitty litter and a kitty pan and scoop, toys, anti-scratch the furniture spray and a pretty little fluffy pink bed.

Sami is a real little love and loves to spend time with me and on me in my office. She will be very good company for me while my son is gone to Iraq. He is leaving this Monday.

Well, that is my today story. I just wanted to share it with you. I hope you all have an awesome day.

This is the outfit that I made to wear to my son's graduation from SU.

It is also a picture of my desk and part of my office. I am going to be wearing black heels and a black strand of freshwater pearls and dangle black freshwater pearl earrings with little diamond-like flowers on them.

I hope everyone is having an awesome day.

I will be posting this throughout the day because I have had several requests to see it.

Hello. I just received this email from my sister.

A favor to ask, it only takes a second or two....

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.           http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/

AGAIN, PLEASE TELL 10 FRIENDS TO TELL 10 TODAY

There are more free clicks to help other charities.  Click them all!

Thank you,

(my sister)

I did this myself, and there is no cost and you do not have to give them any information about yourself. It is just a click of your mouse and a moment of your time.

Thank you.

How do you differentiate Victorian hats from Edwardian hats? Are there any general characteristics?

There is not a lot of differentiation between the two because they are blended together. These periods of fashion came together during the reign of Queen Victoria in 1840-1919 and King Edward in 1901-1919. However, some early Victorian Styles; such as bonnets and head coverings were, as a general rule smaller. Skirt and gown silhouettes were also smaller.

As time progressed, skirts and dresses became more defined and the fullness was toward the back of the garment and the head wear became wider.

The Edwardian style introduced bolder shapes and wider brims, but the two styles still blended together.

The major difference between the two styles is and was how the hat is worn.

The early Victorian styles; for example, bonnets, framed the ladies face and were tied under the chin with ribbon. Mid and late Victorian styles, for the most part, sat high upon a woman’s head because of her elaborate hair style and needed a hat pin to secure the shallow crown of the hat. More often than not there was not even a crown on the hat.

The Edwardian era introduce the development of constructed and blocked hats with deep crowns as ladies streamlined their hairstyles. Some believe that the introduction of the motor car may have had an effect on the style changes because the constructed and blocked hats fit more securely on the ladies head.
