Most Recent Posts Is Everyone out there struggling, or is it just me, and all my friends??Posted Apr-15-08 16:30:59 PDT Wow! It seems like everyone I know, including myself, is struggling these days, with either financial issues, health issues, drama, hassles, (and maybe all or a combination of several) What is going on? Is it the war? Is it Bush? So many of my friends are losing their jobs, or health benefits. And I know several people upside down on their mortgages (thank god i'm not) that got bamboozled by mortgage companies. What is going on? Are we heading into another Depression? I like to stay upbeat and positive, but I got 2 phone calls today from friends with severe problems stemming from health care costs. I think if we can use a blog format to get it out there and talk about it maybe the denial will have to end. Our country is in trouble. What can we do? I want my daughter to have a wonderful future. The future isn't looking too rosy these days. With the price of gas going up to $4 a gallon, we shouldn't have gone into Iraq for the oil. We could have developed green energy with that money and took care of our own people. We are not the world's police department or welfare office. We need health care, we need better education for our kids, we need to be more aggressive at creating new products that we can sell to the world. Anyone have any ideas????? What's the real deal with all the new changes on Ebay??Posted Mar-21-08 18:58:25 PDT I've been away from Ebay for a few weeks, had surgery, and now recovered. Started posting items today, and got a letter from Ebay with alot of changes. Any feedback from other sellers out there?? What does everyone think?? This is probably old news to most of you, but it's new to me. Anyone have the real skinny? Is this going to be positive or negative to small sellers like me? Called a couple of friends who are small sellers, and they are panic stricken. Is this hysteria, or is it time to look for a new place to sell? I've been on Ebay since 1998, and have had a great experience. Will it still be great, or has it seen it's day?? I welcome information, opinions and comments. I need all the help I can get. Thanks! Just in case anyone is wondering where i've beenPosted Mar-11-08 20:26:56 PDT Just in case anyone was wondering where I've been, I am recovering from my (hopefully) very last breast cancer surgery. taking some time off from ebay. A few regular buyers have emailed me, wondering what was up, so I decided to blog it. I'll be back on Ebay soon, but still having some downtime, and doing some volunteer work. I'll be back with great stuff as soon as I can. Hope everyone is having a great week! just so you know, we're snowed in!Posted Feb-05-08 21:00:55 PST just so you know, we are having heavy snow here in wisconsin, so doubt i'll be able to go to the post office tomorrow to ship ebay items. also, we have dish internet (all you can get when you live in the middle of nowhere) so, might not have internet tomorrow, either. of course, we will be able to build snowmen, so it won't be a totally lost day. our thoughts go out to out to all who had to endure the tornados today. best wishes to all on a blustery night! The Perils of going to WalmartPosted Feb-04-08 10:12:14 PST Yes, I'll admit. I went into, and bought things at a Walmart. And I paid dearly for it. I was standing in line, waiting to pay for my purchases. Just spacing out, checking out the those hypnotizing tabloid covers on display at check out counters everywhere you go. Then it happened. A bag on the round check out area slit up the side, a bottle of peroxide fell out, hit the ground and broke, and splashed all over my brand new Ugg boots. They are black, by the way, and you know what peroxide does to black suede. Panic ensued. Managers rushed to take pictures, incident reports were filled out. And they didn't want me leaving the store with the slit bag. Interesting. They took photos of my boots in the store. But they wouldn't let me have copies, or let me have the name of the employees who are witnesses. Weird? Their Insurance company calls me 10 days later. Guess what? It's not their fault, it's the Company that made the bags. 30 days go by. I finally get a letter from the bag company. Now I'm in hassle city. With around 20 hoops to jump through. They want the incident report, which Walmart will not release to them . I complain to Walmart's insurance company. They won't release documentation or photos to the bag company. Catch 22. Nor will they release it to me. Hmmm. I feel full of cliches, like "pass the buck", "getting the run around", or how about just "getting ripped off". Needless to say, I won't be stepping foot in a Walmart again. Saving pennies just cost me hundreds. It might cost me more to shop at my local drug store, or local grocery, but staying stress free is worth the extra money. Anyone selling Walmart Ripped Me Off tee shirts? Maybe I'll wear one in the 3 day Breast Cancer walk for the cure next summer. Anyone else have a strange Walmart story? If so, Please put it on my blog. I'd love to read it. |
