Archive - July 2006 New StarPosted Jul-28-06 18:19:25 PDT Updated Jul-28-06 18:19:53 PDT Hello, I just reached the 50 mark and now I have a Blue Star. Thank you to all the buyers and sellers who left me feedback. It's because of you I have my new star. I have a question: I have Fleece Dog Coats and Aromatherapy Pillows to sell and was wondering when would be the best time to list them. Since these items are for the colder months I thought I would list them after September but what does anyone else think about that. I'm going to make some Halloween Dog Coats so I will list them mid-September. Thanks Kiwi. Updated my About Me pagePosted Jul-28-06 13:36:47 PDT Updated Jul-28-06 13:37:32 PDT Hello Again, I have just updated my About Me page. Not sure if I broke any eBay rules by talking about my website. Please let me know if I need to delete or change some things. Thanks I just closed my eBay storePosted Jul-28-06 12:48:49 PDT Hello Everyone, I just closed my eBay store. It's kinda sad. It was only open a few months but I didn't want to pay the rising fees that will be coming up. I have listed some items for auction but I will sell my items on my website www.creativekiwi.com. On my site I will sell vintage clothing, vintage sewing patterns and vintage clothing reproductions. I am in the process of changing my website pages to all vintage items. I have my Dog Coats, Cat Bags/Toys and Aromatherapy Pillows listed there at the moment. I wrote an email before closing my store to tell my reason and I recieved the standard form letter. It feels like they don't really care. I'm not leaving eBay all together, I'll still buy and sell. Good Luck to all. I love reading your blogs, I've learned a lot from you all. Sam my CatHow do I end listings in my store?Posted Jul-22-06 02:12:21 PDT Hi, I just want to end listings that would be ending soon, not my entire store. Eventhough, I will be closing my store I only want to end listings I'm Thinking About Closing My StorePosted Jul-21-06 21:19:29 PDT I've read a lot of your blogs in the last few days. Thank you for all your thoughts and comments. I'm thinking of closing my eBay store. I have spent a lot more money than I have made. Is it because I'm so new? My store is two months old. Now with higher fees perhaps I should just list auctions, a few at a time. I listed most of my store items on auction then when they didn't sell I put them in my store. I keep reading sales are slow right now too. Also I have a website that I've owned for about 2 years. I haven't advertised it on eBay but ever since I opened my store I seem to have more vistors there. I am in the process of revamping my website but I've spent so much time with eBay that my site has been neglected. So now I feel a little confused with what to do with my eBay store, should I keep it or let it go? I'm not sure at this point. I read on one blog that it would be better for eBay to have more auction listings than stores. The higher fees are so some stores wth close to bring back the auction arena to eBay. Comments would be helpful. Thanks Getting ready to list more items Pricing questions Whew!!Posted Jul-15-06 12:44:14 PDT I've been working on organizing all my vintage patterns since last night. I still have so many pictures to take. I sell patterns mostly from the 70's to present. I buy anything from 60's to 20's, just ask ddsworld, I am a repeat buyer of her vintage patterns. She's great to do business with. I put out an ad on Craigs list for more patterns, I usually get a few responses from there. I also go to thrift stores to find patterns. I am thinking though that I don't charge enough for the patterns I sell. What do you think? Some patterns would be hard to find otherwise but I list them for $2 or $3. Not sure if thats the right price. Also I sell dog coats. At the momment I only have a few of them in my store. Not sure if I'm charging too much or not enough. It's the same with my Aromatherapy pillows. I'm sewing on my new line of dog dresses called Oh! Couture Doggie and will list them soon. I will list them at a higher price because more work has gone into making them and they are unique but wondered what would someone pay for this item. Any suggestions. Thanks Computer NightmarePosted Jul-12-06 10:41:43 PDT Hi I just had a computer nightmare with Spyware invasion!! It's aright though, after paying to get it fixed etc. So now I have all kinds of protection. It started when I clicked on forward to forward an email message to some friends. My computer froze, I couldn't get on any secure sites, etc. It took 2 hours with a tech on the phone to correct (maybe that's not very long) We tried so many different things. Anybody out there with good sound advise? I now have ad-adware SE personal and I have McAfee security and Microsoft Defender. What else should I have? Thanks Advertising on your BlogsPosted Jul-01-06 15:55:47 PDT Hello, I have noticed a lot of you are advertising your merchandise in your blogs. I thought this was not allowed. Some are sutble but others are just plain ol' advertising. One lady showed pictures of herself in her backyard with text that didn't mention selling but it was very obvious she was selling the dresses she was wearing. May I have your feedback on this. While I'm asking could someone tell me how to put an image/picture in my blog. I want to show pictures of my cat, Sam. I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks (I guess you can tell I'm new at this) New Zealand TravelPosted Jul-01-06 10:23:23 PDT All week I've been working on the family travel plans to New Zealand. Wow!!! There's alot involved with it if you don't have a travel agent. I have since emailed an agent in New Zealand to finish up what I have started. My family was born in Auckland and now we are taking our extended family back to meet relatives and to show them where we lived etc. We'll also go to Rotoura where they have Hell's Gate and Wai Ora Spa. They have a lot of Spas with mineral baths in Rotoura. It's a great place to visit to see Maroi and Nature culture. We have an auntie living their too, that's the main reason we'll visit that area. We also have family on Waihiki Island and in Auckland. So it will be a busy time meeting up with family. Some of us have returned to New Zealand prior but I have one sibling that has not been there since 1961. He thinks it's going to be the same. I think he's got a big surprise coming!!!!! Anyway any Kiwis out there please write to me. I'd love to hear from you and any suggestions you may have about traveling to New Zealand or anything else you would like to say. Sam's napping waiting for me to open up the side window so he can have the morning breeze. |
