Most Recent Posts Hi there! I have a question for you pleasePosted Oct-10-08 12:53:34 PDT Updated Oct-10-08 12:56:55 PDT and thank you! :o) I don't play cards so I could use some help. Here it is: I have some old playing cards (with a picture by artist Paul Detlefsen on the front) with only 9 through Ace and four of each card. Get what I mean? Hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace. Four of each card. Is there a card game that uses only these cards and 4 of each kind? I'm used to taking my time in the mornings. I usually don't have to be anywhere that early. Riding over the recently opened rebuilt bridge in Minneapolis aftter the bridge collapse in 2007. A short wait for Minneapolis' rather new light rail to pass by. The light rail goes right past the metrodome on Chicago Avenue. We have to turn off because of road work. This is the second detour we have encountered and it's making us late for my appointment. We get to the hospital/clinic 20 minutes late. Hubby drives up to the valet parking and I take off on my own for the door. As I head for the elevator hubby gives the valet the car keys and meets up with me. We ride the elevator together. I show my insurance card to the receptionist and take a seat. The waiting room is filled up. I see a lady without hair and a hat and wheelchairs. I remember the first time I came here 8 years ago. I didn't feel like I belonged here but I did. I had 7 cm tumor. I only sit about 5 minutes and a nurse calls me back. I wait in another room to see my oncologist. It's too soon to know if cancer is back because I need more testing later this month. But I'm not worried. These tests are just part of my life now. When it's time to go we get freebies. It's customer appreciation week and the clinic is giving away oodles of free drug company items. Lotion, fleece blankie, t-shirts, water bottle, stickynote paper, and even a stapler. Back down the detour and past the metrodome. Out of the city and closer to home. Ahh...that's more like it! Country roads and then home sweet home. Second time around with who knows what this is?Posted Sep-09-08 12:30:23 PDT Updated Sep-13-08 08:57:38 PDT It looks like a wood pie crimper wheel but I really don't know what it is. Hubby is a woodworker so this interested him. When he got it it was in with some other kitchen utensils.
It's all wood and the wheel is 1 3/4".
I don't know what it is. I'm hoping you do. :O) Logging my trip from yesterday.Posted Sep-08-08 18:20:48 PDT Updated Sep-08-08 18:22:41 PDT Took a 200 mile ride to see our girl Sally at her group home yesterday.
We drive through this tiny little town along the way. One of my favorite parts about the trip but don't blink traveling through or you'll miss it. It's on the Missisppi. The other side of the river is Minnesota. We are in Wisconsin.
We have finally arrived.
We picked up the girl and we ate lunch in the park also along the Missippi.
In the park a pair of beautiful bronze statues with a sort of "Titanic" feel to them wave...
at the riverboat.
We walked along the riverwalk where Sally was thoroughly enjoying exploring.
She saw this former train bridge from a distance. She wanted to walk and walk until she found out where to get on the bridge.
View from the bridge.
After the bridge we walked in a beautiful flower garden. Sally spotted the frog in the pond. You can see his close up in my last post.
The flowers in the garden were gorgeous.
We had a good time and we got some good exercise walking. When it came time for us to leave she cried really sad. So I choked back my tears, too. (Darn autism and seizures.) It's all about froogsPosted Sep-08-08 12:18:03 PDT Updated Sep-08-08 12:21:57 PDT
Found this tree toad hanging out on my front door screen.
Here's a look at him from the other side of the screen.
Another tree toad that I found sitting in the house on the floor. He made a great dust mop for those hard to get corners. Hubby held the door open while I nudged and it boinged out the door.
My girl spotted this froggie on a lilly pad yesterday.
Have a great afternoon. Trish | |||||||
