Most Recent Posts Stone Age to Stone CreationsPosted Jun-15-08 15:26:21 PDT Updated Jun-15-08 15:30:55 PDT From the ancient Egyptians to the Mayan and Incan civilizations, stone work and carvings has been an integral part of building and life. The beauty, versatility, and endless designs of stone lends itself to an unimaginable array of every kind of use. In twenty-five years of flooring and tile designs, I've come to love and appreciate the endless uses of quality stones and always appreciated the deep history of the materials I was priviledged to work with. As beautiful and versatile as this product is, I was astounded at how underutilized it was. Most areas designed are with man made products, either in a ceramic or porcelain type of material. Here I was creating beautiful areas in these products, but I was dumbfounded at the lack of accessories available. You had few options if you wanted to add a shelf, border, or any other accessories. Most of my customers wanted stone, but the cost was out of range. Then, I realized that most of the man made products I was working with were designed to mimick stone. With this thought in view, I started experimenting with stone accessories that actually enhanced the man made materials I was working with. The first time I matched a marble with a man made tile, it was magic. All of a sudden, it looked perfect and the shelves I created truly changed the whole look to something beautiful from a basic shower to a custom design. I created this blog not only to share with you my enthusiasm about the formation of new products, but also to share with you your ideas and insight on what is needed and wanted in your setting. I also look forward to answering questions and helping you with your needs as well. I hope you enjoy this blog and I look forward to meeting you.
