About me a?, (lol) I hate these types of things it sounds like someone is bragging. lol

Ok, let's see, ummm, small, blonde, certified crazy, nut case, free spirit with massive energy and pure attitude, OH, and let's not forget, I have a touch of Monk's OCD. (lol), well.. that's what others say anyway, lol...

Personal: I was raised and lived in the south, New Orleans Louisiana for 33 years. Got married to the love of my life, my best friend since second grade, and we moved 10 years ago, now living in Atlanta Georgia. I am a Solitary, Eclectic, Hedge Witch and have been praticing the Craft for to many years to count.

I am the worlds worst speller (lol), so when you find those little mis-spelled words, please be kind and just look over them. I swear if I ever meet the person that invented spell check, I'm moving him/her in. (lol)

(Update) on the spelling thing. Oh-My-Gosh! Guess What?! Woo Hooo, I B's in business now with the correct spelling thing. Me, a major non-tech person has found out that firefox internet browser has spell check, (now I just have to figure out how to use it lol)... WOW! I am like a kid with a new toy. No more bad spelling, just bad grammer. lol

I guess when it comes down to it, I try not to take things to seriourly, due to life is just to darn short to be worried about the small stuff.. Especially the junk we can't do anything about or have control over..

I don't care how old I am, or get to be.. You will (NEVER) find me sitting in a rocking chair watching life pass me by. I have to have the wind in my hair, going a zillion miles a second, creating life every step of the way.. Hubby (the sane one, the rock that keeps me glued together) normally has me by the belt loop, screaming "Honey Slow Down".. lol.. NOPE! Life's just to darn short!! lol... Bottom line, I'm just little ole crazy me, who likes who I am, and my wonderful rollercoaster life.

How Nyx DarkSky Got Her Name

Nyx, Greek Goddess of Night

...Black-winged Night

Into the bosom of Erebus dark and deep

Laid a wind-born egg, and as the seasons rolled

Forth sprang Love, the longed-for, shining, with

wings of gold.

Long before creation and the appearance of deities, humans, and nature, the ancients believed that their existed only the formless void of chaos--black, empty, silent, and endlessly yawning into infinity. According to the Orphic mysteries, out of this primeval chaos arose the first deity, NYX, Mother of Night, in the form of a great black-winged spirit hovering over a vast sea of darkness. Acient Night conceived of the Wind and laid her silver Egg in the gigantic lap of Darkness.

The upper section of this gigantic Egg formed the vault of the sky and the lower section was the earth. From the Egg sprang the son of the rushing Wind--a god with golden wings, named Eros, the spirit of love. The most beautiful of all the immortal gods emerged to create the earth. This first born of Mother Night is also known as Phanes, "The Revealer," related to the Greek word for light. An Orphic hymn praised him, "Ineffable, hidden brilliant scion, whos motion is whirring, you scattered the dark mist that lay before your eyes and, flapping your wings, you whirled about, and though this world you brought pure light..."

NYX, whos name literally means night, was revered for her oracular powers. She could see beyond the night of the present, and her visions were made known from a cave that she shared with her son, Phanes. There Nyx displayed herself in a triple form as Night, Order, and Justice, and she ruled the universe until her power passed over to Uranus with the coming of the patriarchal gods.

NYX, invoked as nocturnal one, came from the earliest substratum of mythology, and by classical times she had little or no cult worship. Homer, who regarded NYX as one of the GREATEST GODDESSES, of whom even Zeus stands in awe, tells in "THEOGONY" another version of the primal mother at the onset of creation. Broad-bosomed Earth; Eros, the spirit of love; Erebus, the personifacation of darkness; and NYX, primordial night, were all fashioned out of the void. Then, from a union of Erebus and NYX, were born Aether (Upper Air/Clear Sky) and Hemera (Day).

The Goddess of Night was said to live in Tartarus (the under-world) jointly with Day. When her daughter Hemera entered the palace, NYX rode out in a chariot drawn by two black horses. Accompanied by the stars, she transversed the heavens until daybreak, when she returned to the palace. NYX was portrayed as a Black-Winged Goddess draped in a dark garment. On her head was a Black-Spangled Veil, and she held an extinguished, inverted Torch. She was sometimes shown carrying two children in her arms-one of them white to personify Sleep, the other black to symbolize Death.
