Posted Jan-27-08 12:40:42 PSTHi and Welcome. My husband and I want to start our New Year by posting a very positive comment. We would like to hear from other eBayers about terrific people and positive stories that have happened to you. YES they are still out there and I have proof. Our friend, and my best friend, Sandy Garretts which is a sister to me, just retired from Northwest Airline as a flygirl! Her career was just short of 40 years, now that was a wild ride. She has traveled to sites most of us only see on TV and dream of being there. Sandy has taken care of our troops on flights, had sick passengers, been injured in flight, been thru hurricanes, plus raised 2 sons, just to mention a few highlights in her career. There is so much more. This is the great part where a wonderful person gave her a special gift. Friday January 25, was her return home from the end of her career. She was flying from Detroit to Dallas, of course everything was delayed with the weather. When the plane was loaded and before take off, the Northwest Pilot announced they had a NW employee on board that had just retired and this was her return home flight. Every one clapped and acknowledged her. One of the attendants approached Sandy and told her that a passenger in First Class wanted her to have his seat so she could return to home in the manner that she deserved. Now this is a terrific offer, because as we all know most people would NEVER give up a First Class seat. Since my friend is a humble person she really didn't know what to do, thoughts were going back and forth in her mind on if she should accept or not. She graciously did and appreciated what this stranger did for her. When the flight ended Sandy realized her luggage was still in the back and had to wait for the plane to empty before she could retrieve her luggage.  While she was waiting the other passengers had to go by her and they all congratulated her and shook her hand.  Of course I asked his name and it wasn't known, not even a business card exchanged. What a kind and gently soul this man is. I truely appreciate and THANK YOU for the unconditional kindness you showed Sandy. She is always putting herself last to help other people. So if anyone was on this flight Northwest 703 from Detroit to Dallas and know this man or was there to experience this event, PLEASE let me know. I would also like to hear other stories of kindness and blessings.
