need to find something to do in kentucky

I've been on line looking for excitement in kentucky, and besides the Mts. I haven't found much.  We are heading there from Wisconsin Aug. 9th on the bike.  Any locals out in blog land that know of cool places to see or stay?????

From there we are heading to Tennessee.  Anyone know what to do there?  Or on the way.  We have 9 days, so I'm open to any ideas.  Thanks ahead of time for your help

Well, Kentucky is beautiful and there are many parks, we have six flags but Tennesse has all your major attractions....where are you staying in KY?

Okay, so that's Western Ky....there are some amusement parks out that way but I think they are small. All depends on what you like to do....Tennessee is where your gonna have your fun at though...downtown Gatlinburg has some great spots during the day and clubbing at night :)

Tennessee has everything....you need to go to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg they have shopping (outlets), amusement parks, all types of nascar stuff too

Graceland is cool :) If you are going trailing you gotta go to Gatlinburg...you will love it on a bike.

They (PF) has a Five Oaks Tanger Outlet mall that you don't wanna pass up! lol So many good deals and lots of shopping...will take you all day to walk it.

Well, we just hit 4.00/gal so, not sure what your use to but your gonna pay 4.00 maybe a tad over. I usually stay at the bed & breakfast inns when I travel but Gatlinburg has plenty of hotels just might wanna book now. lol

The cheapest place to stay in Gatlinburg is probably gonna be Sleep Inn or something like that. It's pretty decent too.

Yes, mammuoth cave is nice but nothing like Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge....there's not too much out where Mammouth Cave is unless you like antique shopping and small parks.

The one I am talking about is called Fast Lane Tobacco and they are all over the place here but yeah kwik trip is about 8 miles down the road from me but you can see these drive-thru Fast Lane Tobacco joints up all over if you come down 25E
