Most Recent Posts Why Does PayPal Require Me To Provide Receipts on Stuff I Bought Over 20 Years Ago?Posted Sep-16-07 19:59:24 PDT Updated Sep-16-07 20:05:03 PDT Does anyone know why PayPal "require" me (or other ebayer's using PayPal) to provide "Original Receipts with the Stores Name On It" before they allow me access to my PayPal money? I sold several old rock magazines for $3-5 each that I purchased over 20 years ago, and when I used PayPal as the payment method, why can't I transfer this money from PayPal to my authenticated bank account? I never encounted this before and when I asked this question on their blog earlier in the day, they immediately deleted it out of the ebay blog system. I did contact them several times and I never got it resolved and they kept adding in new things, and the last was providing them with the Original receipt. So now my PayPal account is "Limited" and I can not transfer funds from PayPal to my bank account all because I didn't provide PayPal with my Original Receipt for the old 2nd hand magazines I sold? Since when does PayPal determine where I buy my stuff for resale and does anyone else have to provide this to them to be able to access their money? The buyer left positive feedback on ebay, tracking number was confimed as delivered, and included PayPal contacting them they even said all was fine with the transaction? Please help! I'm confused with PayPal... ebay AUCTION POSTING ISSUES YET AGAINPosted Sep-08-07 14:24:15 PDT Today's 8 September 2007, and it's over 4+ hours again that ebay didn't post my item! Granted they force into their guidelines that they can take as much time as they want before they make it searchable, but it's a continual problem and ripping off us, the sellers yet again. I figure they owe me like a free listing because of the "down time" I paid for all the time my items have been placed in limbo, before they post it in their community. So for you sellers, don't assume that once you place an item up for auction, that it automatically is searchable immediately. Please do a search for it and see how long it actually takes ebay to make your item searchable... Just because you see it on your listing, doesn't mean it is made available for everyone to see when they search... So please judge for yourself the timeframes that it takes ebay to actually post it... Do a search in the main listing for your item and if you don't see it in your search, it still is not loaded into their computer... About 1 month ago, it took ebay almost 12 hours before my auction item was finally placed into their database... If they do this to everyone, they are raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars per week for not adding our items in...
ebay Again Ripping Off Us Sellers and Taking Over 6 Hours to Actually Post Timed Auctions and Make Them Searchaable! We are being charged the moment we list it, yet they take up to 12 hours to actually make postings searchable for users!Posted Aug-09-07 11:18:17 PDT Updated Aug-11-07 17:04:50 PDT ebay is again ripping off it's sellers without providing services. As sellers, we are charged the moment we click post, yet the servers or procedures used do NO make our item automatically available and searchaable on their website. Lately again, they have been taking over 6 hours for all my postings the last few weeks, and at it again. This generates MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for ebay in services not rendered, yet we are being charged the their lack of concern! For example, if a seller posts a one day auction and we have say 10,000 people doing this PER DAY, ebay is pocketing 25% of our fee's without providing services! Let's say the average auction charged $5. This means ebay is pocketing $1.25 per listing, and are profitting $12,500 per day in non service payments. Imagine if they do this over time, and included in all other auctions. This billion dollar company is ripping us sellers off again by pocketing profits yet not providing proper services. This has been a continual issue and ebay does not seem to care. We should only be charged for the ACTUAL TIME OUR LISTINGS ARE SEARCHABLE; NOT THE MOMENT WE POST IT! So the longer they delay our listings OFF THE MAIN DATABASE, the more profit they make! How can you tell? Well sellers, once you post your item, go directly and do a search in ebay for you keywords. Just because you see it on your listing, DOESN'T MEAN IT'S IN THEIR SEARCHABLE DATABASE! Do a completely new search with your words and see if it get's listed. If you do NOT SEE IT when you do this search, it means ebay is holding it (purposely or not) and they are pocketing our money for services NOT rendered. Check back every few minutes and you can see for yourself how long it really takes ebay to actually offer your item to fellew buyers/sellers. This has happened especially in the Tickets catagory, and their are times where their are only 4 listings, and hours later, suddenly, all at once, their are 50, so it seems they group them in bulk. I understand that modifying your item may delay posting, but don't bother telling me this because I know that, as it's not the situation at hand in this case. ebay should be reinvesting their billions of dollars back into the company and not make us users finanically suffer and not use our money like toilet paper. Seems they just don't care about their procedures and place profit's over customer service. Too, keep in mind that when our item DOES SELL, ebay and PayPal together (who are owned by the same parent company) gets about 15% of the final value price we sell the item. So if they infact wanted to make this wrong a right, they only need to buy another couple computer parts, and upgrade their program, but seems they are too cheap to reinvest less then 1 penny per transaction to fix it... But then again too, why should they? They are profitting more by NOT doing this and would rather rip us off then fix the problem...
ebay Again Ripping Off Us Sellers and Taking Over 6 Hours to Actually Post Timed Auctions and Make Them Searchaable! We are being charged the moment we list it, yet they take up to 12 hours to actually make postings searchable for users!Posted Aug-09-07 11:02:45 PDT As stated in previous blogs, ebay is at it again and takaing over 6 hours to actually post timed Auctions from Sellers in the Ticket catagory! Us sellers need to complain because ebay is charging us the moment we click post, and they take their sweet time to actually make our items searchable. Just because us sellers see it on our listing, it does NOT get posted to their searchable dataabase until they feel like it. A few months ago, I believe I had items that I paid for Online Auctions, and it took up to 12 hours to actually make it appear in the actual seartchable database. Ebay is again taking our money without providing any services and we should get refunds, or credits. For example, if they do this to say 10,000 people per day for one day auctions, and they keeping our auction items OFF THE SEARCHABLE LISTING for 6 horus, they are pocketing 25% OF THIS MONEY FOR DOING NOTHING! They
For example, eBay Ripping Off It's Sellers Millions of Dollars Per Week!Posted Apr-06-07 18:43:18 PDT Hello, I just want to let others know that ebay has taken a wrong turn with sellers and are purely making MILLIONS OF DOLLARS per week from us. Has any other sellers noticed the last couple of months that ebay and it's servers have consistently been taking up to 8 hours to post our listings? I sell tickets and lately, their servers have been AWEFUL! It is very common that many peoples listing have taken up to 8 hours to actually be posted when we do a search for our items. I feel that they need to spend some extra money and buy some new servers that can add our postings sooner. Like they really can't afford it! There have been numerous times that when I post a 1 day auction (or should I say any auction). We get charged the moment we "Accept" their charges, yet they do not have any requirements to post our items in a timely manner. In 1 day auctions, when it take 6-8 hours for ebay's servers to actually insert our item, we are being RIPPED OFF 25-33% (on 1 day auctions) and realistically are only getting 16-18 hours of ACTUAL visability in the ebay community. So we are forced to accept ebay "Pocketing" this non listing payments and not getting a honest 24 hour posting, so they are getting money for ? during this period our item(s) are unsearchable. We are being charged for their processing, so of course, that's FREE MONEY FOR EBAY! Let say for example, ebay makes $1 million dollars a day on 1 day postings (which I know is lot's more). So ebay's charging us for their "processing" time of 6-8 hours before our items are actually posted when people do a search that can acutally see our item. That's $250 thousand dollars per day they pocket without having to provide us their services. Now, lets use 30 days a month times $250 thousand dollars. That's $7.5 million dollars a month OR $90 MILLION DOLLARS per year us sellers are giving them for what? Business is about getting all you can get and "squeezing" every penny you can from people, and us sellers are our target. My figure of $1 Million Dollars per day may actually be on the low end of the scale so their profit's are MORE. Multiply this by each selling member on ebay and you can see, I wouldn't be surprised if they pocket an extra BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR using this system. As you can see, they are NOT providing a service yet us sellers do not have any choice but to pay this "DEAD PROCESSING TIME" to them for their lack of providing true searchable times, or they're refusal to invest in upgrading or adding in additional servers to process our requests. It's a shame they refuse to make this 6-8 hour posting time any better, like it use to be in the past. Does anyone else encounter this problem? There have been times I see tickets being posted all at once. One hour I would see 20 postings, and low and behold, the next hour, all are posted at the exact same time and then theirs 300. We need to get refunds or we should only be charged for the actual time they actually make our posting searchable; not only when they "feel" like downloading our items to their searchable database, becauce they already have our money... Sorta like businesses and banks that take their time sending money because every single day they can keep more money in their account, the more money they make on interest charges. The exact same, but they are doing this on their servers. I thought us sellers should be only paying for the actual posting times that our item can actually be searched when users do a search, and not let ebay take their jolly ol' sweet time to post; but then again too, remember, they are profitting by MILLIONS OF DOLLARS per week from this non grey area. We pay posting for 24 hours or how ever long we need, but in fact, right now with their new system, they are pocketing TON'S OF MONEY for ? Us sellers should get 24 hours of searchable times as we "think" when we "sell" on ebay, but please be aware, we are not. Thank you ebay for taking us sellers money without actually providing proper services! |
